Description
A study of key concepts, skills, or themes in the areas of media and communication studies. Topics to be announced each semester offered. Recommended Preparation: MCS 222. This course is repeatable for a maximum of 6 credits or 2 attempts.
Notes
Students will learn the basics of broadcasting and marketing collegiate sports through participation in the production and promotion of UMBC basketball games. Students will have the opportunity to assist in the ESPN game broadcasts, learn about camera operations, work in-game marketing entertainment, observe the facilitation of sponsorships, and contribute to the creation of postgame highlight packages, among other tasks. This course counts towards the New Media and Applied Communication elective area for Media and Communication Studies majors.
